Since November 29, 2021, the Vienna negotiations between Americans, Iranians and Europeans have aimed to resuscitate the nuclear agreement of July 2015, the JCPoA, emptied of its substance by the withdrawal of the United States in 2018 and the systematic violations of the Iranian side since.
The talks were “
very difficult
”, according to a European negotiator, they were almost broken off twice but, after more than three months of intense efforts, they had finally led to a final project: the return of the United States and Iran in the deal in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.
