Russia-Ukraine War
The Jerusalem Municipality illuminated the walls of the Old City with the Russian flag - and provoked outrage
In the capital, they decided to light up the walls with Russian and Ukrainian flags alongside the phrase "waiting for you," in response to Zalanski's proposal that Jerusalem host the talks between Russia and Ukraine.
But the move caused a stir.
The opposition attacked: "It is impossible to put the attacker and the attacker together, it is injustice and harm to thousands of victims"

The Jerusalem Municipality illuminated the walls of the Old City this evening (Sunday) with Russian and Ukrainian flags and received much criticism.
The walls were illuminated with the flags of the countries next to the caption "Waiting for you", after last night's report according to which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky suggested that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett hold talks with Russia in Jerusalem.
"Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Israel, is a city of peace and coexistence. We are in favor of a cessation of hostilities and an understanding between the parties.

The chairman of the opposition in the Jerusalem municipality, Ofer Berkovich, attacked the municipality's decision: "Sometimes you have to know how to be politically smart.
But do not distort reality, evil is evil and the aggressor is the aggressor.
It is impossible to put the attacker and the attacker together.
This is injustice and harm to thousands of victims.
"Jerusalem can be a city of peace and host a summit that will prevent war, but Jerusalem is first and foremost a city of justice.
"
The call for peace between Russia and Ukraine is meaningless, since the problem is with the Russian leadership and not with the Russian people.
To paraphrase what Golda Meir said, 'If the Russians lay down their arms, there will be no war.
"But if the Ukrainians lay down their arms, there will be no Ukraine."
Following the storm, the municipal coalition is also opposed.
Deputy Mayor Yossi Havilio told Walla !: "Shame. I forwarded to the mayor's office a demand for immediate removal."
Following the audit by the Jerusalem Municipality, they are considering removing the exhibit in the next few minutes.
