1. FC Heidenheim suffered a defeat in the next duel with a candidate for promotion from the 2nd Bundesliga.

Barely a week after the 2-1 win over Werder Bremen, coach Frank Schmidt's team lost just under 1-0 (0-0) at FC St. Pauli on Friday evening.

Hamburg managed to return to the top of the table, at least temporarily.

Hamburg – In front of 22,433 spectators in the Millerntor Stadium, which was not completely sold out, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh (67th minute) made the tenth home win of the season perfect for the Kiezkicker.

With his three-man defense and a wide midfield, the well-organized sixth in the table from Heidenheim caused St. Pauli's offensive problems.

The guests initially even had the better chances.

Stefan Schimmer (22nd) and Christian Kühlwetter (30th) failed because of goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.

For the Kiezclub, Guido Burgstaller (37th) had the only chance worth mentioning up to that point, but it went unused.

After the change, the hosts took command again.

Simon Makienok (49') failed at goalkeeper Kevin Müller's foot, Burgstaller didn't hit the ball properly in a promising position (53').

From Leart Paqarada's cross, Kyereh did better as he scored his tenth goal of the season from a free stand.

FCH went full offensive in the final phase and were unlucky that Tim Kleindienst (83rd) only hit the crossbar with his head.
