A 64-year-old man lost his life in a fire registered on Saturday night in his home on Las Cumbres de Jaén street, according to the 112 Emergency Service. Later, his ex-partner, a 59-year-old woman who lived in the same address despite the fact that several complaints had been crossed between them, she was arrested preventively while it is investigated whether or not the fire was intentional.

In the early afternoon of this Sunday, after the burial of the man who died in the fire, there has been a shootout between the families of the victim and his ex-partner, with the result of a man injured after receiving a bullet in The abdomen.

The National Police, which has taken charge of the investigation, has arrested a 40-year-old man, a relative of the victim's ex-partner, on the outskirts of the capital, as the alleged perpetrator of the shot that seriously injured the other man.

In his initial statement, the detainee has denied being the author of the shots but has admitted that he threw some pieces of an engine out of fear of reprisals by the relatives of the man who died during the fire.

That fear of reprisals would have been the trigger for the shootout between the two families, which has continued through several streets in this neighborhood in southern Jaén.

The woman was released on bail hours after being detained by the agents "due to the inconsistencies" shown in her first testimonies.
