Police throw pepper balls to enforce curfew 2:33

Following the city's spring break weekend violence, the city of Miami Beach plans to implement a midnight curfew.

Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber held a press conference Monday afternoon, where he announced that the curfew will begin at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning and last through Monday at 6 a.m.
City Manager Alina Hudek said she will call for the same curfew next weekend as well.
The public emergency order, signed by Hudek, will go to the city commission at a special meeting on Tuesday for approval, he said.
“If you want to see what a very frustrated and angry mayor looks like, you're looking at it,” Gelber said.

“What we are seeing and what we are feeling and what we are observing is simply unacceptable on every level,” he added.
Hudek also announced that the Miami Beach Live concert scheduled for this Saturday night will be rescheduled.
Gelber said there were 371 officers in South Beach over the weekend.
Miami Beach cops use pepper spray to enforce curfew
Miami Beach Police Chief Richard Clements said that during this year's spring break period, beginning in February, nine officers were injured in some way.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, the Miami Beach Fraternal Order of Police said four of those injuries occurred over the weekend.

According to police, three people were injured in a shooting on Ocean Drive early Sunday morning.
