Record demand for "discounted apartment": "Additional lotteries will be opened" | Israel today

About 75,000 people registered for the "discounted apartment" lottery as of 6 pm yesterday (Wednesday), according to data from the Ministry of Housing and Construction.

Registration for the lottery ends in less than a week, on March 29, and the Ministry of Housing says that there are currently no incidents.

The number of registrants is expected to continue to increase and so will the chances of winning.

Among the registrants, only about 10,000 housing units will be raffled off, assuming between NIS 300,000 and NIS 1 million, depending on the locality and the type of plan.

In the current lottery, 150 projects will be raffled off in 31 localities.

Aviad Friedman, director general of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, told Israel Today: "We are witnessing a record demand that has never been the case. During the year, additional lotteries will be opened, with at least 20,000 additional housing units throughout the country.

"It is important for me to note that the lottery is only the first of a series of steps promoted by the ministry, in order to offer young couples in Israel the opportunity to purchase an apartment at a discount. We work around the clock with all relevant parties so that 2022 Marketing last year and I am sure that more records will be set in the coming year, "he concluded.
