The Iraqi forces announced today the implementation of a joint security operation south of Samarra in the Salah al-Din Governorate in the center of the country to cleanse it of terrorism.
The Salah al-Din Operations Command in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces said in a statement today that a force from the 41st Brigade in the Salah al-Din Operations Command in the Popular Mobilization and the security forces carried out a joint security operation to search and purify areas south of Samarra, including the areas of Zour Albu Hashma Al-Shawayyat within the sector of responsibility.
The statement added that these operations come with the aim of continuing the security and operational effort and to miss the opportunity for terrorist groups to target areas and civilians.
On the 19th of this month, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Authority announced the launch of a security operation in the governorates of Diyala and Salah al-Din to pursue the remnants of the terrorist organization ISIS and secure a number of areas.
