Several thousand Russians living in the Czech Republic protested against Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine at a demonstration in Prague on Saturday.
According to the police, around 3,000 people took part in the campaign under the motto "Russians against Putin".
Incidents were not reported.
It must be made clear that not all Russians are secret supporters of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, the organizers said in an appeal on Facebook.
Czech society is waiting for such a signal.
According to the immigration police, more than 45,000 Russians were living in the Czech Republic at the end of 2021.
This makes them one of the largest foreign minorities – right after Ukrainians, Slovaks and Vietnamese.
There are numerous Russian shops, some of which are now demonstratively displaying a Ukrainian flag or are even involved in refugee aid.
Meanwhile, according to a report in the newspaper "MF Dnes", an entrance to the Russian embassy in the diplomatic district of Prague-Bubenec was smeared with blood-red paint.
According to the activists involved, the color stands for the blood of the innocent victims of the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
The police are investigating a misdemeanor.
The day before, the city administration had announced that it would rename the avenue in front of the Russian embassy "Street of Ukrainian Heroes".
