The Russian Defense Ministry announced the opening of a humanitarian sea corridor for the exit of foreign ships trapped in Ukrainian ports.

"The Russian armed forces open daily from 8 am to 7 pm Moscow time a humanitarian sea corridor, which is safe, and its length is 80 nautical miles in the southwest direction and its width is 3 miles," the Russian TASS news agency quoted Mikhail Mezintsev, commander of the Ministry's National Defense Management Center, as saying. More than 60 foreign ships are still trapped in Ukrainian ports.

Mizintsev stressed that the Ukrainian side has not yet shown its willingness to ensure the security of foreign ships and is avoiding interaction in solving this problem.

The threat of bombardment and the great danger of mines posed by Kyiv in its internal and territorial waters does not allow ships to sail safely out to sea.

The Russian Navy removed minefields in some areas and neutralized some floating mines in the open sea to make way for safe navigation in the Black Sea.
