Photo manhunt: With this picture, the Rhein-Erft-Kreis police are looking for a man who is said to have abused a then 13-year-old in a park in Bergheim in 2020.

Cologne/Bergheim – The Rhein-Erft-Kreis police are looking for a picture of a currently unknown man.

He is accused of sexually abusing a then 13-year-old in Park an der Erft in Bergheim (NRW).

Now the public search starts with a photo of the alleged perpetrator, and the Cologne police are also supporting the search.

As reported by 24RHEIN, the background to this search call is the report of the young victim from the Rhein-Erft district.

In it, the now 15-year-old describes that she met a man on June 3, 2020 via the "connected2.me" Internet platform and made an appointment with him on the same day at 7:20 p.m. at the train station in Bergheim.

The perpetrator is said to have taken the minor to a remote park near Bergheim train station and asked her to perform sexual acts on him, which he is said to have enforced violently because of the girl's resistance.

The man then fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is said to be between 17 and 25 years old, 180 centimeters tall and of athletic build.

At the time of the crime, he is said to have had dark, short, straight and highly gelled hair and a full beard.

His brown eyes were striking.

At the time of the crime, the suspect is said to have been wearing a black sweater, sneakers and long, light-colored trousers.

It is also known that the suspect came to Bergheim by train from Cologne on the day in question and allegedly has an aunt who lives in Bergheim.

After alleged abuse in Bergheim (NRW): police are looking for perpetrators

Previous investigations and search measures have not led to the identification of the suspect.

The criminal police are therefore urgently looking for witnesses and ask: Who knows the person shown in the picture?
