The Ukrainian Air Force attacked with helicopters and combat facilities fuel depots near the city of Belgorod in western Russia, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today (Friday).
Eight large fuel tanks were reportedly completely destroyed after they were hit by missile fire from Ukrainian Air Force mi-24 helicopters.
According to sources close to the Ukrainian army, the helicopters flew at a particularly low altitude in order to evade Russian radar and managed to return safely to their base.
In Russia, two workers were reportedly seriously injured.
Meanwhile, the withdrawal of Russian forces from the capital's capital Kyiv continues.
Mayor Bocha, located northwest of the capital, reported that the city had been completely liberated from the presence of Russian forces.
The Ukrainian army is advancing on three main axes, following what appears to be a withdrawal of the Russian army, northeast, east and northwest of the city.
Ukrainian forces liberated several villages and towns that were in the corridors of the Russian army's advance towards the capital and in many places there were signs of residents going out to greet the liberators.
"Throughout our path of progress, the residents went out to greet us. Some presented us with flowers. Elderly and religious women greeted our vehicles with holy water," Victor Filipenko, a LGBT fighter and activist who took part in the fighting, told Israel Today.
"We are working to liberate all the territories occupied by the Russians, but much more importantly, to rescue the civilians who fell into the hands of the Russians who are being held hostage by the invading forces," Filipenko said.
Despite Ukrainian progress near Kiev and Khariv, in the south of the country the Russians recorded a significant achievement when they managed to honor the city of Izumi, around which bloody battles have been fought in recent weeks.
