The commander of the Israel Police Prosecution Unit in Eilat, Superintendent Adv. Shachar Idan, today (Monday) filed an indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings against a 27-year-old resident of Migdal Haemek who attacked a security guard at the Leonardo Privilege Hotel in Eilat and shouted at him "I am a suicide bomber." The suspect is charged with injury offenses while the offender is armed, threats and assault causing actual bodily harm.

The incident in question took place in the morning on March 30 this year, when the Israel Police received a report of an attack on the security guard at the hotel.

According to the indictment, Eilat police forces were called to the scene and began an initial investigation of the incident, suggesting that it was not a nationalist incident, and began searching for the suspects.

The investigation of the incident reveals that the incident began with an unusual noise heard from a room where two men in their 20s lived.

The noise bothered the guests of the rooms around, and the security guard was called to handle the incident.

As he makes his way to the scene, he encounters the suspects.

One of them, the indictment states, made a big noise using an ashtray placed in the stairwell.

As soon as they noticed him, the suspects began to run away from him.

When the security guard returned to the reception desk, he again noticed two people asking the receptionist for a key to their room.

The security guard instructed the receptionist not to comply with their request and explained that he intended to book a police car for the hotel.

While talking to the Israel Police's Hotline 100, the suspect shouted at the security guard, "I am a suicide bomber," and began pushing him.

The security guard tried to stay as far away from him as possible and even made his way towards the exit of the hotel so as not to be dragged into a confrontation with him.

All the while, the suspect clings to him and refuses to leave him.

Not a nationalist event

While the security guard turned his back on him and made his way towards the exit, the suspect picked up a wooden board that was in the hotel lobby, and slammed it hard on his head.

As a result, he suffered a deep cut on his scalp and needed medical attention.

Meanwhile, when the suspects realized that police officers had been called to the scene, they began fleeing the hotel.

The patrol officers of the Eilat area who were called to the scene, began searching for them and within a few minutes all the suspects were located and arrested throughout the hotel area.

Upon their arrest and whenever you were at the station the suspects rioted and quarreled.

Also, the defendant who attacked the security guard did not just do so and punched another person who was staying at the station at the time and caused him to bleed from his nose.

Immediately after his interrogation, the suspect was brought before an investigating officer.

At this point the officer informed him of the decision to keep him in custody and bring him before a judge, at which point the suspect began cursing the officer and threatening him "I will meet you outside again".

The indictment was filed only against the main suspect.

Inspector Sagiv Ben Naim, commander of one of the patrol units in the Eilat police: "Upon receiving the report, we were called to the scene and began determined actions to strive for contact to understand the incident."

Chief of Staff Moshe Finzi, Commander of the Eilat Regional Police: "We call on all citizens to show patience and restraint towards their surroundings and to obey the instructions of where they are.

All violent offenses, small and large, will be dealt with severely. "
