The half-way closure of the B 307 in Gmund and the associated detour once around the lake is not only annoying for drivers.

Business people complain about lost sales and a lack of information.

Gmund –

Salvatore Rizzo, operator of the Italian Enotec "Rosso" right next to the Mangfall Bridge, is not in good spirits with the community.

He was recently refused the construction of a stable awning, now he also has the construction site in front of the door, which costs him his lunchtime business.

"If I had known that, I would have planned differently with my staff," says Rizzo.

"We've been in lockdown for so long, and now that the whole world is opening up again, they're closing the street." He claims he was not informed in advance.

Peter Bayerschmidt from the perfumery across the street also reports that he was not informed.

From our newspaper he learned about the construction work and the necessary one-way regulation, which has only allowed passing from south to north during the day for almost a week.

"Right now,

What annoys Fabian Palese, owner of the pasta factory "Pastificio Palese", which only opened last summer, is the late point in time at which he was informed.

"I only found a letter on the day it was supposed to start," criticizes Palese.

His sales have collapsed by 60 percent.

In order to make the best of it, he now offers a delivery service for customers in the valley on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Georg Mayer, who is the only one in Tegernsee who still makes passport photos in his photo shop, also speaks of a loss in sales.

"But we still have to get through this now," he says and advises his customers to park at the savings bank and walk a few steps to the store.

Martina Drexlmaier ("Puro") reacted far less relaxed to the construction project.

"I'm considering a lawsuit," says the businesswoman.

Construction site on the B 307 in Gmund: Work is progressing well

A lot of criticism, to which not only Mayor Alfons Besel responds when asked, but also Josef Harraßer from the Technical Building Office of the municipality: "Every mailbox has received a letter," assures Harraßer on the subject of advance information.

Letters were distributed to around a hundred victims.

So he couldn't explain why some business people apparently didn't know anything after all.

However, Harraßer is cautiously optimistic about the progress of construction: "Things are going well, the company is making good progress." So well that, parallel to the work along the B 307, work began on crossing under the railway line on Max-Obermayer-Strasse.

The residents are already being guided by traffic lights via Seestrasse to the main road.

Harraßer does not want to hide the fact that there will be additional restrictions at the end of this week.

Then the main road has to be crossed at Mannhardtstrasse to pull in new cables.

Nevertheless: Not the municipality of Gmund, but the E-Werk Tegernsee is the client.

"This measure serves to ensure the security of supply for the entire community," says Frank Thinnes, technical manager of the E-Werk Tegernsee.

"Medium-voltage cables that are 40 to 50 years old and in poor condition are being replaced."

At an earlier point in time, for example during the last Corona year, the measure was not ready for a decision.

In order to keep the burdens for everyone involved “as compressed” as possible and also to enable the folk festival to be held from May 12th, work is now even being carried out in parallel on Max-Obermayer-Strasse.

Construction site on the B 307 in Gmund: even a secret path is now a one-way street

The construction work will officially last until April 29 with road closures.

The B 307 is open at night, on weekends and on Fridays from 2 p.m.

Because many local people are now taking a secret path via Schwärzenbach, this street was also declared a one-way street.

By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Tegernsee newsletter.
