The concept of Samsung's The Freestyle is simple: a small projector that you can take with you everywhere to be able to consume content only by pointing it at a wall or ceiling, but that can also serve as a lamp or even to give a different touch to your photographs for social media.
We were able to see the Samsung projector in action playing movies and games.
This is what we thought of our first approach:
design and use
This cylinder has a length of just over 17 centimeters with the lid on and a diameter of 9.5 centimeters, so it fits perfectly in a backpack.
In addition, it weighs only 800 grams, making it one of the lightest we have reviewed so far.
It is attached to a base on which it oscillates although it transmits enough solidity due to the fact that it is made of good quality polycarbonate and covered with a rubber cover that feels good to the touch and that, above all, allows you to take it without being afraid that it slips

The promise of the Freestyle is to turn almost any surface into a screen, since its design allows it to rotate up to 180°, so a wall, table or even the ceiling can become the canvas to view multimedia content in Full HD+ quality.
According to Samsung, you can get up to a 100-inch screen with this projector.
The Freestyle also has smart TV features, such as integration of streaming services, screen
mirroring
of Samsung and iOS TVs and smartphones with AirPlay 2, direct content transmission to the projector and it also has HDMI and USB-C ports.
It gives a satisfactory experience in the consumption of movies, but in video games it does suffer from a certain latency.
smart speaker and lamp
To complement the viewing experience, The Freestyle also integrates smart speaker functions to offer 360 surround sound, although this point we could not verify in our tests because the audio came from sound bars.

This projector can also be controlled by voice, either with Samsung Assistant, Bixby, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
Something to highlight is its ambient mode that we can use, for example, to subtly illuminate a room, and also to project a video or a photograph with the sole intention, precisely, of creating a specific environment in a space.
Price
The Freestyle has an official price in Mexico of MX$20,999 pesos, and you can already buy it through the Samsung Store or on Amazon for
USD$897 or
MX$ 17,998, where it has a 10% discount and you can pay it monthly without interest.
