Wounded by gunfire in Rahat, riots raged on the spot (without credit)

Two young men were seriously injured last night and three others were moderately injured last night (Saturday) by gunfire in Rahat.

Following the reports and the sound of gunfire, police forces were called to the scene, a cafe in neighborhood 34 in the city center, and were attacked with stones by residents.

Riots raged in the area.

Apparently, the background to the incident is a conflict between two families.

MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment on the spot to the five wounded by gunfire, all in their 20s, and evacuated them to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

This is the second shooting incident in two days in the city.

On Thursday, unknown individuals fired at a cafe in an entertainment complex.

There were no casualties in the incident, but the glass door at the entrance to the place was completely shattered and much damage was done to the cafe.

During the police investigation, a 25-year-old city resident was arrested, who was suspected of being involved in a shooting aimed at cafes that allowed women to sit in the place, much to the displeasure of the rioters.
