The FHP expressed in a tweet its thanks to the person who called the 911 emergency line to provide the information that allowed the agents to find the whereabouts of the driver of the rental truck that “hit and killed” the woman.
Questioned by FHP agents, Valero González "admitted being involved in the collision and having fled" from the scene of the accident and "having smoked marijuana that day."
The FHP recalled how dangerous it can be to stop a vehicle on the road for this type of assistance.
