A thrilling accident of concrete spalling occurred in Sham Shui Po.
Yesterday (8th) at 11:00 in the middle of the night, a tenement building at 259 Keelung Street suddenly flew into the street with a large amount of concrete, some of which reached 50 by 30 by 30 cm, crushing the roof of some food stalls, and the affected area exceeded 10 Meters by 10 meters.
The police and firefighters arrived and initially suspected that a tree on the 7th floor of the building broke through the outer wall, causing the incident. On the next floor, an air conditioner was destroyed and crumbling, and the firefighters helped to remove it.
Fortunately, it was late at night, the food stalls were closed, and no passers-by passed by, otherwise the consequences would be dire; however, affected by the incident, a section of Keelung Street at the scene needed to be closed.
