The French capital, Paris, witnessed today multiple protests against the economic and social policies of the government of French President Emmanuel Macron, with the participation of activists from the "yellow vest" movement, on the eve of the presidential elections in the country.

French media reported that the protesters raised banners confirming that they will continue in the demonstrations until their demands are achieved, and chanted slogans and phrases calling on Macron to resign and to leave the electoral race, such as "Macron, out in the first round", "Macron... Resign" and "Macron inaction."

The protesters, upon their arrival at the Place de la République in Paris, set fire to garbage containers and began removing metal fences, but the police quickly intervened to suppress the protesters.

It is noteworthy that the yellow vest movement was launched in November of 2018 to protest against Macron's economic and social policies, which they say favor the wealthy, but the French authorities faced them with excessive repression that led to the deaths of many victims and the arrest of thousands.

It is noteworthy that the presidential elections in France will take place on the tenth of this month, with twelve politicians competing for the position, including the current French president, leader of the right-wing National Rally Party, Marine Le Pen, and the center-right Republican Party candidate, Valerie Pecres, and others.

An opinion poll organized by the Ilab Institute for the French BFM channel revealed earlier today that the current French president's support for his rival, Le Pen, declined from voting intentions during the first round of voting for the presidential elections in France.
