(CNN Spanish) --

On Sunday, April 10, the mandate revocation consultation will be held in Mexico, a referendum for the country's electorate to decide if they want President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to continue in power.

But how do you vote and where?

At the end of March, the National Electoral Institute of Mexico (INE) launched the portal "Locate your Casilla" so that voters can find their corresponding polling place.

To locate your polling place, it is only necessary to locate the electoral section within the INE voting card.

There are also special polling stations which will only receive people who are outside the electoral section corresponding to their address.

  • When and why will there be a consultation to revoke López Obrador's mandate?

You will need to have a current voting card in order to cast your vote on April 10.

The INE approved the installation of just over 57,500 voting booths —including basic, adjoining and special— throughout Mexico for the consultation that will take place on April 10.

According to the electoral institution, there will be enough ballots for Mexicans registered on the nominal list to attend this exercise.

If you are abroad, the INE has set up an online system that allows Mexicans residing abroad to exercise their right to vote.

In addition to applying to register, all you need is a current voter ID, an email address, and a cell phone number.

The INE will have to approve the registration request and, if applicable, will send the access codes.

Thus, it will be possible to enter SIVEI from March 27 to 30, weeks before the consultation.

There will be several days to cast the vote electronically, starting at 8:00 p.m. on April 1 and until 6:00 p.m. on April 10 (Mexico City time).
