Following pressure from the field: fear that "rebellious" PA members will join the clashes Israel today

A source in Ramallah for "Israel Today": The public is beginning to doubt the security coordination • Rose of Jericho: Palestinian policeman tried to hit

The hashtag "Security Coordination - Betrayal" is making a comeback on Palestinian social media, expressing the embarrassment facing the Palestinian Authority and its security apparatus in the face of the events unfolding in the Jenin refugee camp in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian policeman admitted that he had planned to carry out a shooting attack inside a Jewish settlement near Jericho yesterday.

When he was unable to enter, he walked away and fired in the air a whole cartridge.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen,

He arrived in a Palestinian van he had stolen earlier.

The Palestinian policeman tried to enter the Jewish settlement and fire at the guard, who managed to take cover.

The Palestinian withdrew from the settlement and fired into the air.

The policeman was arrested by the Palestinian security forces, and during his interrogation he admitted that he had planned to carry out a shooting attack in the locality.

It is now being examined whether he has an affinity for Islamic Jihad.

Resistance is gaining momentum

The general feeling in the Palestinian street is that the PA and its mechanisms are not working to protect the residents in the face of repeated raids by Israeli security forces in Jenin and its environs.

The claim that "the authority abandons us to our fate" arises not only on social networks, but reflects the escalating atmosphere on the ground.

This is according to a Palestinian source in Ramallah.

The firm opposition to security coordination between the PA and Israel has so far come mainly from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, but according to the source, a revival can now be seen among other sections of the Palestinian public, who are beginning to doubt the usefulness of security coordination between the two sides.

Criticism of the PA's security forces intensified following the assassination of Islamic Jihad operative Ahmad Saadi by IDF and special forces last Saturday in the Jenin refugee camp. Saadi was wanted by the PA and appeared on her "blacklists." Israel and put its hand on it - something that was perceived by the Palestinians as a product of the security cooperation that the Palestinian Authority maintains with Israel.

Just yesterday, at the funeral of 17-year-old Palestinian Muhammad Zakarna, who was wounded by gunfire in the Jenin refugee camp and died of his wounds during IDF attempts to arrest the family of terrorist Ra'ed Hazem, cries were heard against "collaborators," a thick hint to the Palestinian Authority.

Along with calls seeking to end security coordination, calls are also emerging for members of the Palestinian security services to join the struggle.

Herein lies the next headache of PA Chairman Abu Mazen. While maintaining security coordination with Israel, there are fears of "rebelliousness" among members of the security forces who will try to challenge him.

The fact that the words of agitation uttered by the father of the "Dizengoff terrorist" actually come from a former senior official in the Palestinian "national security" show that there are those among the members of the apparatus who keep a warm corner in their hearts for the Palestinian struggle.

Attentive to public noises

The presence of commanders from the security services during mourning visits this week to the homes of the Hazem and Saadi families in the Jenin refugee camp reminds everyone that they are not cut off from what is happening around them.

They serve as security personnel and enjoy monthly salaries paid to them by the PA, but in the end they also serve the Palestinian issue.

According to the source, "any delay that may be in their salaries due to the economic situation of the authority or due to the deduction of the terrorists' money, may agitate."

The security forces, on the one hand, obey the chief's instructions and are subject to him, but on the other hand, they live within their people.

They work for Abu Mazen, that's true, but on the other hand they are also somewhat attentive to the noises of the public and the street, which is now calling on them to intervene and join the campaign.

The steps taken by Israel in the fight against Palestinian terrorism put the PA in a dilemma - preserving security coordination in the face of the will of the people.
