US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at Boston's Logan International Airport discovered a long sword inside a traveler's cane last Tuesday.

This sword was hidden inside a traveler's staff.
The man said he "had no idea the sword was there," Dan Velez, a TSA spokesman, said in a tweet.
After being questioned by the Massachusetts State Police, the man handed over the cane and was able to continue his journey.
It is not uncommon for blades to be hidden in seemingly normal objects.

On Thursday, a passenger attempted to get through airport security with a dagger concealed in a hairbrush handle at Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport, according to a tweet from TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.

"Some carry-on items may be prohibited even though they may not appear so, such as a cane with a hidden blade," the TSA says on its website.
