Cindy lives in the Schmarl district of Rostock.

Many here live on the edge of subsistence level or below, receive Hartz IV - and report on their fates in the RTLZWEI documentary "Hartz und Herzen".

Even with the mother of two, Cindy, things are going haywire.

At the request of the youth welfare office, the young mother had to give her daughter Clara to a supervised shared flat*.

It was precisely in this difficult situation that friend Jean left Rostock for a job - and left her sitting.

This hit the mother of two hard.

Even if Jean is back in the meantime, the air is tight between the two.

The young couple lives in an on-off relationship - in which shreds regularly fly.

But this crisis seems to affect Cindy particularly.

She wants the couple's frictions finally to be resolved.

"We have to pull ourselves together somehow for the children," is her motto.

At the latest, Jean's disinterested and brief answer: "Well," which he gives in the 37th episode "Hartz and warmly - day by day Rostock", it becomes clear: the young parents are not pulling in the same direction.

Jean's internship with his father in Schleswig-Holstein has not become a permanent job.

But the father of two is planning to leave Rostock even without a job and to stay permanently in Schleswig-Holstein, 160 kilometers away.

Cindy doesn't like that at all, because the couple has an important appointment coming up.

Through a lawyer, Cindy tries to get her children Clara and Melodie back.

Jean has to confirm his move in writing for the youth welfare office.

But the children's father is of the opinion that the lawyer could reach him by telephone and that a personal appointment is not necessary.

While Jean plans his own and completely new life, Cindy tries to find common ground with her partner for the sake of her daughters Melodie and Clara.

The couple's disputes have now become so violent that they would also rub off on the daughters and the environment.

The fact that Jean is planning his future without Cindy and without their children deeply hurts the Rostock native.

But that doesn't seem to affect the young father particularly.

"She has to accept that I'm gone," he says coolly in the 37th episode of the social documentary from Rostock.

"Hartz and warm": Jean is toying with thoughts of separation – and Cindy wants to take a break from the relationship

It would be difficult for Jean to take care of his family from Schleswig-Holstein.

That's why Cindy suggested that he take a break from the relationship.

But the father of two children does not seem to be interested in this solution: "If we separate, then that's the way it is," he reveals on TV.

Since, in his eyes, Cindy would be more attached to the relationship anyway and would "cry" if he separated from his family and her, the young father has no ready solution to the problem.

So far, the couple has pulled together again and again, it remains to be seen whether they will make it this time too.
