According to the Reuters news agency, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) wants to provide two billion euros for military aid.

A large part of it is intended for Ukraine, according to Reuters from government circles.

Accordingly, the money should be spent on new military equipment.

Around 400 million euros alone are earmarked for the European Peace Facility, which buys weapons for Ukraine.

In addition, there would be expenditure for the German armed forces and for deliveries to Ukraine and third countries.

According to Reuters, the significant increase in funds for military aid in the supplementary budget has already been agreed in the government.

The two billion euros are not part of the Bundeswehr's special fund of 100 billion euros as a result of the war in Ukraine, but additional expenditure.

Recently, there has been massive criticism of Scholz, with the FDP and Greens growing lack of understanding in the face of a head of government who often appears speechless and indecisive.

The first at the traffic light rehearsed the uprising.

"The chancellor is the problem," said the Green Anton Hofreiter, chairman of the European Committee in the Bundestag.

CDU leader Friedrich Merz agreed: Scholz should have gone to Ukraine himself after the cancellation of Steinmeier's planned visit to Kyiv, Merz told the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".

With his hesitant attitude towards Ukraine and his reluctance to deliver heavy weapons, Chancellor Scholz is making Germany look difficult, Merz continued.

"With his behavior he endangers the cohesion of the entire international community towards Russia."
