The People’s Assembly affirmed that the evacuation day on the seventeenth of April 1946 is a bright page in the history of Syria, where the heroism of the holy fathers and grandfathers, their sacrifices and their continuous struggle over many years and over the entire area of Syria resulted in the evacuation of the last occupying French soldier from the rich homeland.
The council said in a statement on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Evacuation Day, which SANA received a copy of, that what Syria has been subjected to and is being subjected to today and for more than ten years of fierce military, media and political wars, in addition to the unjust economic siege from the forces of evil, terrorism and aggression, especially the United States of America and the entity. The usurper Zionist and their agents are nothing but desperate and miserable attempts to impose a colonial reality in the region and a new mandate with different modern patterns and forms by working to weaken Syria’s active role in the region and the world in service of the malicious Western agendas that aim to dissuade it from its principled positions.
The Council added that the steadfastness of our proud Syrian Arab people, the heroism of our Syrian Arab Army, and the wisdom and foresight of our leader, President Bashar al-Assad, were the solid rock on which the dreams and illusions of the conspirators were shattered.
As we celebrate this memory, dear to all of our hearts, we renew our absolute confidence and full confidence in the ability of our loyal people to mobilize their capabilities and energies, strengthen their solid national unity, and renew images of the epics of immortal liberation by confronting terrorism and all forms of conspiracy and aggression.
In turn, the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, in a similar statement, saluted the martyrs of the evacuation and the martyrs of the ongoing confrontation against the forces of hegemony, Zionism and terrorism, stressing that the Syrians have always been at the forefront when it comes to confronting the forces of colonialism in its old and new forms for the sake of successful liberation and independence.
The party's central leadership stressed that Syria was in the initiative when it faced alone in the beginning NATO's colonial policies and unipolar plans in the region, explaining that this pole is breathing its breath today following the Russian operation that aims to prevent NATO from expanding.
The Central Command indicated that the world will witness the birth of a new, more balanced world order, and what it is experiencing today is the pain of its birth, which is necessary and inevitable while awaiting a new era.
For its part, the General Federation of Trade Unions affirmed that the Syrians’ struggle did not stop after independence, but rather continued to face colonialism and its hateful dividing schemes, so the honorable march of ancestors was entrenched in the face of occupation, greed, conspiracies and cross-border terrorism in order to preserve their dignity, freedom and unity.
The union said in a statement that the Syrians continue today to make sacrifices and blood in order to preserve independence and preserve national sovereignty in the face of the fiercest terrorist, colonial and Zionist war known to all mankind, noting that the Syrians’ memory contains many stations and epics of heroism and redemption that their fathers and grandfathers wrote in order to achieve the independence of the country. .
The Union added that the sons and grandchildren have been waging a battle of destiny for more than ten years to preserve Syria and its sovereignty and preserve its pride and independence in the face of an aggressive global war that the country is being exposed to with the support of the old and new colonial forces and their agents and tools from terrorist and takfiri organizations.
The union affirmed that Syrian workers, on the anniversary of the evacuation, renew the pledge to continue the process of giving, work, building, production and defending Syria until the end of terrorism.
