What should I do if the elderly in need is not a member of the service unit concerned?

The Food and Health Bureau stated that the distribution targets are mainly the usual service recipients/members under the service unit. Only the non-member elders who need it will still be flexible if they want to obtain the rapid test kits. Review distribution procedures.

The authorities also pointed out that the plan to distribute the rapid test is encouraging and voluntary, and has not set a target for this, stressing that the elderly who receive the rapid test should make good use of and apply it, and report if they are positive for the virus.

What supplies are included in the rapid test kit?

In addition to the test kits, the rapid test kits will also have a user guide specially designed for the elderly. The government said that the instructions will be in larger fonts, with pictures and texts, to guide the elderly to take the rapid test and how to seek help.

What should the elderly do if they are found to be positive after a rapid test, but do not know how to report online?

Food and Environmental Hygiene stated that those with positive results of the rapid test should take a photo of the test result and report the result through the "2019 Coronavirus Rapid Antigen Test Positive Person Declaration System" within 24 hours.

Elders who encounter difficulties in using the online reporting system can call the automated system at 1836 119 to register their identity documents and telephone numbers.

The CHP will then contact the person concerned to complete the declaration process.

Negative test results do not need to be declared.

In addition, the Food and Health Bureau also pointed out that the distribution plan this time is not a one-off. The staff in the 680 service points covered by the plan will use their normal relationship with senior members and the opportunity to meet with them from time to time to care about whether they are doing fast. You can also give advice on the spot, which is better than the one-off test.

How many times can the senior receive a quick test at a time?

Can I get it again during the distribution period?

It is tentatively planned that the elderly can receive 5 rapid test kits each time, and they can go to the relevant service points to pick them up if necessary. The authorities said that the relevant service points use a membership system to serve the elderly. Concerned about the usage of all members, whether they have used the rapid test, and whether they have reported positive results, it is described as a "complete service", which can make the public use the rapid test kits better.
