The World Bank cuts GDP by one point in 2022

ANALYSIS – Global growth will grow by 3.2%, hampered by the triple crisis of Covid, inflation and the war in Ukraine, according to David Malpass.


On the eve of the start of the spring assemblies of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the latter's president, the American David Malpass, announced a further downward revision of the global growth in 2022. In January, the Washington institution predicted global GDP growth of 4.1% this year.

David Malpass subtracts almost a point and now expects 3.2%.

The IMF must in turn, on Tuesday, publish its latest forecasts, also lowered, as its managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, warned last week.
