The fifth wave of the epidemic has lasted for several months, and the shortage of epidemic prevention materials has been eased, but has the situation in some remote areas also improved?

A number of people who are volunteers in the outlying islands have worked tirelessly to assist in the management of material delivery services and deliver precious anti-epidemic materials to the residents living in the mountains.

A Tung Chung resident helped deliver the supplies to Lamma Island. Unexpectedly, the two addresses were located at two ends of Lamma Island. Although the process was extremely thrilling, it was still satisfying.

Although Hong Kong is a small place, the transportation to the outlying islands is still inconvenient.

Sisters Tracy and Angela, who are only one year apart from the same school, work closely together in the weekly distribution activities to deliver the lucky bags to the residents in need. Among them, Angela is the team leader in Tung Chung, who is responsible for coordinating and delivering the delivery every day. "When we arrange a certain amount of materials to be dispatched from the headquarters, we will call the infantry volunteers at the same time; from the beginning when we were left in difficulty by the management staff, to not knowing how to dispose of the material cardboard boxes, the team evolved to establish a good relationship with the management staff, and even more so with the management staff. Several mothers-in-law who collected cardboard made an appointment to clean up, and the process quickly became smooth.” In addition to being attentive, Angela also delivered zero waste and achieved effective matching. Instead of sending them back to the headquarters by Lawton, it is better to send them to the nearby Fu Tung Village Home for the Elderly.

Tracy, the leader of the outlying island district, described that the outlying island district has a limited delivery volume, and it is not as good as other districts that can deliver more than 1,000 lucky bags a day, so expectation management is very important.

Even if she has to deliver supplies to remote areas, she can still have fun.

As Tracy, the leader of the outlying islands area, described that the outlying islands area has a limited delivery volume, and it is not as good as other areas that can deliver more than 1,000 lucky bags a day, so expectation management is very important.

Even if she has to deliver supplies to remote areas, she can still find joy in it. "Although the delivery point in the outlying island area is far away, the scenery along the way is beautiful. You can feel and know the delivery place along the way, and discover the fun by yourself. Even if you only deliver goods every time. The goods are delivered to several households, but in reality the heart is the same as the thousand tons, and the results are not necessarily measured by the amount of delivery.” Tracy believes that the warmth that the recipients felt when they learned that they had climbed the mountains and waded the water to visit has far exceeded the materials in the lucky bag. .

Many addresses in the outlying islands are difficult to find. In order to facilitate delivery, Tracy used social media to find the contact information of relevant regional organizations, and thickly "cold call" various outlying island rural committees, and urged the township committees to assist in the delivery, which was more successful. The "Meng Gongzhu" sailboat was used to successfully transport a large amount of materials to the Cheung Chau Nursing Home.

Sammi, the representative of the Cheung Chau Rural Committee, described that the numbers of some streets in Cheung Chau are not arranged in sequence, and even Cheung Chau people may not know them. Are there any unique signs or businesses nearby. Some neighbors knew that the township committee had called, and offered to pick it up at the office by themselves.”

Counting the most memorable delivery locations, Tracy admitted that it was Chengbi Village in Chi Ma Wan, south of Lantau Island. She once arranged to send the lucky bag to the Tung Chung distribution point because she was not familiar with the road. It can only be reached by boat from Cheung Chau.” Therefore, Tracy believes that coordinating the delivery to the outlying islands has enabled her to “get to know Hong Kong for the second time”.

Another volunteer, Shirley, who works as an accountant, lives in Yat Tung Estate and uses her spare time to help deliver supplies to various housing estates in Tung Chung. The experience of being arranged to deliver lucky bags to Lamma Island is unforgettable.

Shirley revealed that at that time, she was carrying three delivery notes and three heavy lucky bags, and took the train to Hong Kong Station to go to the pier to take a boat to Lamma Island, during which she called one of the applicants, the 60-year-old. The multi-year-old uncle eagerly went to the pier to greet her, which made her first delivery to Lamma Island successfully completed.

Tai Ping Village and Mo Da Village are located at the two ends of Lamma Island. You need to take a boat to the city and then transfer to Kaito.

However, Uncle pointed out that Shirley's other two delivery locations are located in Tai Ping Village and Mo Ta Village, which are located at the two ends of Lamma Island.

Shirley decided to head northeast to Tai Ping Village first. "I thought Lamma Island was like Cheung Chau and there would be a lot of bicycles to rent, but I couldn't find it at the time, so I had to walk there." Shirley had to stop frequently to ask the neighbors for directions. , Constantly correcting the route to reach the destination, "The road is at the mouth, and the neighbors are very enthusiastic, and some even take me for a while."

Sit on the deck in order to catch the boat

Shirley described the journey from Daping Village to Moda Village, which required a nearly two-hour mountain journey, which was a wonderful adventure.

A resident suggested that she take a boat back to Central, and then transfer from Aberdeen to Kaito to Sok Kwu Wan Pier near Mo Tat Village. However, it was 5 pm. Shirley stopped the boat as soon as she arrived at the Central Pier in order to catch the boat. The taxi went to the Kaito Pier in Aberdeen. Seeing that Kaito was about to leave, she quickly jumped on the boat, "I don't know where the courage came from, and I even asked the captain to sit on the deck."

After many hardships, she finally successfully landed at Sok Kwu Wan. It turned out that the applicant's daughter lived in the urban area and applied for supplies for her mother from a distance, so she tried her best to help Shirley navigate along the way, and described her mother's appearance to her to avoid mistaken delivery. other residential addresses.

The most thrilling thing happened when he arrived at Moda Village. After Shirley arrived, he asked the villagers if there was a woman surnamed Zhou, and the other party responded, "Our entire village is surnamed Zhou." Fortunately, I saw a mother-in-law staggering over not long after, and it turned out that she was the consignee. "Mother-in-law Zhou was very polite, she kept saying thank you, and even told me to catch the boat, because the wind was getting stronger and the sky was dark."

After a day of running around, Shirley said with a smile that she was blown away by a sudden strong wind when she was returning to the voyage. She was so frightened that she immediately hugged her handbag tightly to prevent even her belongings from sinking into the sea.

But she still felt that the delivery experience on Lamma Island was very satisfying. "Seeing the smiles and grateful expressions of the recipients, I even thought they were helping me."
