“defeat the far right”
by supporting outgoing President Emmanuel Macron who, according to him,
“best embodies democratic and humanist values”
.
“It is fundamental to defeat the extreme right and its message of hatred and prejudice.
This is what all democrats (…) around the world want and hope for”
, insisted the left-wing figure in a series of tweets published on his official account.

In the first round, the former Brazilian president (2003-2010) had supported the candidate of insubordinate France (radical left) Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva now believes that the outgoing president

against his far-right rival Marine Le Pen in Sunday's election.
