Unusual picture on the A8 on Thursday morning: two horses were traveling there in rush hour.

Then they went on a little trip.

Munich – Great excitement on Autobahn 8: On Thursday morning (April 21) at around 6.40 a.m., there were two horses on the road alongside cars and trucks.

The two had apparently broken out of a farm near Taufkirchen and are now exploring on their own.

On the Autobahn, however, it was too turbulent for the horses.

According to the Munich police, they said goodbye to meadows and forests near the Sauerlach junction after a good quarter of an hour.

The officials were now alarmed - and looking for the animals.

The helicopter also helped with the search

In the meantime, in addition to the Munich Police Headquarters, the Headquarters of Upper Bavaria South was also on duty.

That is responsible for the Autobahn.

A helicopter also helped with the search.

In the meantime, the two horses were on the road towards Sauerlach.

But they kept changing their location.

Until they were finally stopped near a gravel works on Lanzenhaarer Straße between Oberhaching and Sauerlach.

Escaped horses caught after about an hour

The officers of the cavalry squadron calmed the animals and finally put the halter on them.

The two horses were returned safely to their owners.

In the meantime, they had already started their own search.

Eventually, the news about the free-roaming animals also came on the radio.

After about an hour, the trip for the two escapees was over.

So they should have had enough exercise that day - and fortunately everything turned out well.
