More than 100 people were killed in an explosion at an illegal oil refinery in the Ohaji Igbima area of Imo state in southern Nigeria.
Nigerian media quoted the state's commissioner of oil resources, Goodluck Obiah, as saying during his visit to the site of the explosion that more than 100 bodies had been found, indicating that the state government had listed the owner of the illegal refinery on the wanted list.
In turn, the Nigerian news site Today revealed that the explosion, which occurred late last night, also injured at least 150 people with severe burns.
