A new mathematical tool developed by the University of Texas at Austin claims that the amount of water accumulated under the crust of Mars is much less than calculated.

The data was obtained after analyzing the planet's past, since it is believed that at one time the oceans in the northern hemisphere were fed by water from the southern side.
