Air defense systems in Syria were activated due to an Israeli attack in the Damascus area, the State News Agency (
SNA ) reported last night (Wednesday).
Near Kibbutz Matzuva.
"In accordance with the Home Front Command's policy, no warning was activated in the area."
In response to the firing, the IDF used 65 artillery shells to attack targets in southern Lebanon.

About two weeks ago, it was reported that defense systems had been activated in Syria due to an air strike in the Damascus area.
State television reported that explosions were heard in the capital's skies.
"Israel's airstrikes are aimed at several 'points' in the Damascus area of Syria," local television said.
The Syrian news agency SNA added on behalf of a military source that the defense systems intercepted "some" of the missiles launched. They further added that only material damage was caused, but did not specify a passage.
