The new duo has also come up with a new name.

"We wanted something with numbers and came up with the idea of ​​the Nuremberg telephone area code," report Robert Förster and Kurt Grauberger in unison.

"0911 - City Beach" is the new name for the city beach.

Speaking of which: In one area, the new operators have intentionally left no sand on the island of Schütt, so that female guests with high-heeled shoes can walk to the city beach more easily.

In order to reduce costs, Förster and Grauberger have also reduced the area and significantly reduced the number of deckchairs.

"We want to create a cool beach feeling here and not have a mass event," says the 39-year-old Förster.

On the other hand, the new management team did not want to do without the popular pool bar with knee-deep water, to the delight of Ramona and Luisa.

"It almost feels like vacation here," say the two friends, pink cocktails in hand, as they splash around at the opening of Nuremberg's new "City Beach" on Thursday.
