The commercial activities in Aleppo, in coordination with the Syrian Trust for Development, held a Ramadan Iftar party for more than 200 invited shop owners and merchants of the Al-Saqatiyah, silk and pistachio markets in the Al-Saqatiyah market in the old city of Aleppo, in an atmosphere of Ramadan rituals that the people of Aleppo were accustomed to, followed by playing, chanting and singing by the Aleppo Qudud. Aleppo Ensemble.

Lawyer Bashar Askif, director of the Legal Response Program at the Syrian Trust for Development in Aleppo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that today’s event is a collective iftar for commercial and economic activities in the old markets of Aleppo and comes within the intangible customs and heritage that the people of Aleppo have consistently held as part of the rituals of the holy month of Ramadan in these markets.

Askif pointed out that the Syrian Trust for Development seeks to restore and revive these rituals, with its accompanying Aleppo heritage and songs, to enhance intimacy and love between merchants, stressing the continuous work to invite the owners of shops in the old markets to return to them in conjunction with the ongoing restoration work to revive these markets again.

SANA’s camera accompanied the Ramadan rituals in this event and monitored the opinions of a number of participating merchants. Adnan Karza explained that this breakfast is to gather the people and merchants of old Aleppo on familiarity and love as they were before the war that kept them away from their markets and an opportunity to revive these markets with commercial activity.

"We came today to revive our ancient Aleppine heritage, which we used to hold Ramadan tables and sweet treats in a joyful social atmosphere, restoring glamor to the old city and achieving development in it," said Husam El-Din Shuhaiber.

Muhammad Barakat pointed out that today's Iftar party was held by Aleppo merchants in the late days of Ramadan, expressing his hope that life would return to the rest of Aleppo's markets, while Mahmoud Sarjia said that Aleppo merchants are bringing joy and pulse back to the heart of the old city during this event that brought them together, calling on all those who were abandoned from the markets The city to return to it and work again to recycle its economic life.
