The communist presidential candidate Fabien Roussel announced on Friday that he was a candidate for re-election in the legislative elections in the North, pleading for the rally on the left from the first round for a new majority in the National Assembly.

Intense negotiations continued on the left on Friday to find an agreement between La France Insoumise and, in particular, the PS, EELV and the PCF for the legislative elections.

In 2017, Fabien Roussel was elected deputy in the second round in this constituency, with 63.88% of the vote against 36.12% for the National Front candidate, Ludovic De Danne.

In the first round, he was only 1% ahead of the FN candidate, the LREM candidate, Daniel Zielinski, arriving in 3rd place (20.17%).
