Residents of the Palace sheltered housing in Modi'in created the largest chain of flags in Israel on Independence Day - more than a kilometer long.
The tenants, most of whom are Holocaust survivors, explained that the chain is an expression of their love for the country.

Recently, the residents of the place, their grandchildren, as well as schoolchildren and kindergarten children gathered, and together they carried the chain - almost a mile long.
"The purpose of this act is to show a demonstration of human power and between generations and to say - the people of Israel are alive," they explained.

Debbie Gittleman, a resident of the Palace, led the project, and says that the class was especially exciting: "We stood together in the human chain. In one row stood a tenant and a 13-year-old girl next to her. "It was so exciting. The best mile I've ever had in my life."
"The happiest mile of my life."
