On the occasion of World Traffic Day, the Syrian Society for the Prevention of Road Accidents, in cooperation with the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch, organized this evening an awareness seminar under the title “Traffic Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility” at the Cultural Center in Sahnaya in Damascus Countryside.
The participants in the symposium stressed the importance of spreading awareness and traffic culture as an essential step to be worked on on a permanent basis, based on the slogan launched by the Ministry of Interior for this year, which emphasizes the need to educate drivers and focus on correcting pedestrian paths, traffic lights and service matters for the traffic facility.
Lawyer Ahmed Naguib, president of the association, pointed to the need to spread traffic awareness and traffic safety standards in all regions, especially rural areas, and to provide solutions to improve traffic matters and reduce traffic accidents that cause serious material and physical damage.
Colonel Iyad Abla, Head of Operations Department of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch, shed light on the rules of traffic law and the promotion of traffic awareness among all segments of society to reach a traffic-committed society with a low accident rate, stressing the need to focus on educating children and university students in this regard with the aim of creating a traffic-aware generation.
The symposium was attended by a number of traffic officers and men, members of party teams, cultural, scientific, student and social events, and a crowd of interested people.
