INVESTIGATION IN TEXAS: 100 shots were heard, but police remained in the hallway Israel today

2022-05-28T18:06:57.697Z

One student heard the shootings and ordered all her friends to be silent so he would not reach their classroom, turning off the light like the exercises they did • Two children called police during the shooting, but officers were already in the hallway waiting for special equipment • At the same time, new details of the shooter's threats against women surfaced

New details about the dimensions of the police forces' failure during the mountains at the Yuvaldi school were revealed over the weekend, as well as the resourcefulness shown by the children and teachers in the compound, which may have prevented a larger massacre.

On Friday, police admitted that the decision not to storm the building for an entire hour until a special crew arrived with burglary equipment was a mistake.

Stephen Macrau, after public safety at the local police, said yesterday that the commander's decision on the ground at the time of the incident "was wrong, period."

He added that at least two children called police during the incident to call for help, but as mentioned, there were already police officers near the school who had been instructed not to act.

Also, there was no police officer in the area before the shooting, and that the side door to the school - which is usually supposed to be locked - was left open by a teacher who had just gone out to pick up her cell phone.

The whole sequence of these cases led to the tragic consequences.

If that wasn’t enough, his reader admitted that during the police talks there were no less than 19 police officers in the corridors during the critical hour when the shooter, Salvador Ramos, barricaded himself in the connected classrooms.

The talks began at 12:03 and the burglary of the compound, which was finally carried out thanks to a key they found in the school office that overcame the steel door, was carried out at 12:51.

The reason for the delay, at least officially, is that the commander in the field thought that the shooting incident was over and that now all that was left to do was to end the firing of the shooter.

The New York Times revealed that one of the girls called shortly after the shooter arrived at the classroom and locked her up.

"Please send police now," she pleaded as she whispered so he would not hear her.

She called again and again.

She did not know that at that moment there were already policemen in the compound who had been instructed not to seek contact despite the shooting voice they heard.

About 100 shots were fired, according to hearing witnesses.

The Times reported that a 10-year-old girl in a nearby classroom apparently saved her classmates from death.

She and the rest of her class just watched a movie in class and were nearing the end of class.

Suddenly they heard sounds that sounded like explosives.

"Everyone was scared so I told them to stay still," Gemma said.

When her classmates joked that these were probably pranks, she immediately silenced them, as she learned in the exercises they did for such cases.

She also turned off the light in the classroom as you practiced.

Also in the nearby cafeteria, teachers who were with 40 fourth-graders video that the light would be turned off after announcing on the speaker system that there was a suspicion of a shooting incident at the school.

They also locked the door and prevented him from entering.

On CNN we interviewed an 11-year-old girl who was in the classroom into which the shooter entered, which actually consists of two classrooms.

She said that after advancing to second grade he started firing and after he finished he started playing sad and loud music.

At that moment, she and another friend called the police.

"Come on, we're in trouble," she pleaded.

She feared he would go back to the original class and for that she dipped her hands in the blood of one of the victims who was lying next to her and then smeared blood all over her body to make him think she was dead and then lay next to her.

"It felt like three whole hours," she said.

She said the shooter managed to get into both classes because he pushed one of the teachers in the two connected classes just as she was trying to close the door on him but he just shot the door and she had to retrace her steps.

After entering the compound he looked at the teacher, said "good night" to her, and then shot her at the students.

It also emerged over the weekend that contrary to claims that only in the hours before the murder he revealed his intention to carry out a violent move, it seems that already a few weeks before he threatened violence against women and against the school.

A CNN report said a number of people said he was active on the Yubo social network that in the days before the murder he approached the women he said he would rape them, also showed the weapon he had bought and also uploaded videos on live streaming where he said he would carry out a school shooting campaign.

According to the witnesses, they warned the social network but she did nothing against him.
