Ireland has recorded its first confirmed case of monkeypox.
And the Irish health authorities announced in a statement today, monitoring a case of infection in the east of the country, explaining that contacts with the infected person are currently being traced.
More than 100 cases of monkeypox have been recorded in the UK overall.
For its part, the Mexican health authorities confirmed the detection of the first case of monkeypox in the country in a 50-year-old man residing in the United States.
"We confirm the first imported case of monkeypox in Mexico," Mexican Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Hugo Lopez Gatell said, adding, "The patient is in preventive isolation and is being followed up."
And the German health authorities announced earlier today that seven cases of monkeypox had been recorded.
