Nebenzia warned that the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, who exposed the crimes of the American forces, will remain in prison until his last days in the event that he is extradited to the United States, indicating that “without the materials published by Assange, the world would never have known about the crimes of the American and British military personnel in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as about Torture in Guantanamo Bay and the Secret Prisons of the CIA in Europe.
The Russian delegate asked: “What did the countries that call today to fight accountability evasion after that information became public?
Did they seek to open investigations and hold those responsible among their own citizens accountable?
