Region - After the serious train accident on Friday (June 3) near Garmisch, the rescue work continues.
This means further traffic obstructions in the Loisachtal.
The regional train derailed on Friday around 12:20 p.m. in the Burgrain area.
It is a regional train that drove from Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the direction of Munich.
The police headquarters in Oberbayern Süd reported (as of 3:30 p.m.) four fatalities.
Around 30 train passengers were injured, 15 of them so badly that they had to be taken to nearby hospitals.
About 140 people were on the train, authorities said.
Due to the further salvage work, it was essential to divert traffic over a large area until the end of the salvage, according to a press release sent at 7:28 p.m. by the Garmisch district office.
The work is expected to last until the middle of next week.
The diversions mainly affect the direction of travel to the south.
The following applies:
• Long-distance traffic is already diverted to the A 95 near Sindelsdorf.
The driveway from the B472 in the direction of Garmisch is currently closed.
• From Saturday (June 4th), traffic coming from the west (Augsburg) will be diverted from the B 17 via Kurzenried/Steingaden to Füssen in the direction of the Fernpass.
• Traffic from Mittenwald/Innsbruck is temporarily diverted at Krün in the direction of the B 11 via Wallgau, Walchensee and Kochel.
