The themes of the lectures on the third day of the activities of the seventeenth session of the Scientific Conference for Medical Care 2022 on the grounds of the exhibition city in Damascus focused on the latest developments in infertility treatment, laparoscopic surgery, maternal and fetal medicine and medical imaging.
The head of the Syrian Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, stated in a statement to SANA’s delegate that his lecture presents the latest developments in the management of polycystic ovaries and shows recent guidelines and developments in diagnosis and treatment, especially that it is one of the common cases and constitutes 15 percent of problems in women, pointing out that the symptoms of polycystic ovary Cysts vary according to the reproductive activity of the woman and include hirsutism, excessive acne, hair loss, obesity, menstrual spacing, delayed pregnancy or poor ovulation. In a late stage, endometrial hyperplasia or uterine bleeding can appear.
In his turn, the Director of the General Authority of Al-Zahrawi Hospital, Dr. Ali Mohsen, spoke in his lecture about postpartum hemorrhage, which is classified as threatening the life of the woman in the absence of prompt and effective intervention, in addition to how to manage these cases, especially that one in 40 women can be exposed to this condition, pointing out to The presence of predisposing factors for bleeding related to the physical condition of each woman, such as obesity, twin pregnancy, prolonged or rapid labor, or taking some types of medication.
Responsible for the Ministry of Health pavilion in the exhibition accompanying the conference, Ibtisam Abbas indicated that the pavilion displays the awareness and guidance publications issued by the Ministry, through which the services it provides through its directorates and affiliated bodies, in addition to displaying the prosthetic limbs that are manufactured in the rehabilitation center and prosthetics.
From the wing of the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery in Damascus, Anas Doro pointed out that their participation aims to shed light on the services provided by the hospital and introduce its departments.
Pharmacist Raneem Mahmoud, “Medical Application Director,” indicated that the application is a personal medical assistant, which consists of two interfaces, the first for the patient, through which he sees the indications for medicines and their prices, reminders of medication appointments and sharing the medical file, and the second is for pharmacists through which the offers offered by pharmaceutical companies and prices are seen, in addition to an electronic distributor It connects them to warehouses.
Among one of the medical device companies, Eng. Rami Daaboul stated that they are participating with more than 350 types of medical devices that serve hospitals, clinics or homes, pointing out that the participation aims to introduce their products and offer discounts of more than 30% during the exhibition period.
Ayman Baltaji, sales manager in a preventive medical clothing company, stated that their participation aims to show the quality of the national industry and its ability to compete with global products.
The activities of the conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with Damascus University, with the participation of more than 100 university professors and specialized doctors, will continue until next Sunday, accompanied by a medical exhibition that includes 60 leading companies in the fields of medical and laboratory equipment and national pharmaceutical industries, representing more than 100 agencies of foreign companies from 18 countries.
