Today, the activities of the Salamiyah Cultural Festival began with a carnival celebration on the amphitheater of the Ismaili Supreme Shiite Council in the city of Salamiyah, and it included artistic, musical and folk performances, in the presence of cultural, youth and civil activities.

The festival, which aims to showcase the city’s heritage, authenticity and civilization through folklore and traditional tools, lasts for a week and includes performances for the elderly and people with disabilities, chess tournaments, a morning walk, lectures, cultural seminars, and activities for children and women, in addition to the flower exhibition and the charitable book fair, which includes many diverse titles that talk about A peaceful city and its honorable people.

The festival also includes an exhibition of fine art containing international plastic paintings and some handicrafts made from environmental blends, in addition to a charity dress exhibition.

In statements to SANA’s reporter, Ali Qabalan, head of the Ismaili Shiite Council in Syria, said: “The Ayyam Salamiyah Cultural Festival is one of the most diverse and rich festivals that reflects the distinguished cultural level of the city’s people,” noting that the ancient cultural history reveals the heritage of ancestors who were pioneers in scientific fields. Philosophical, literary and cultural.

Qabalan saw that the festival is a challenge to all the difficulties and circumstances the country is going through and a message that the Syrians are a steadfast and lively people who love joy and life, and that a peaceful city and its people are a source of Syrian culture.

For his part, Metropolitan Nicolas Baalbaki, Metropolitan of Hama, said to the Greek Orthodox sect: “Culture and arts are a language that is not intended for a specific people or nation and does not need translation or interpretation. Today, we were pleased to open the Salamiyah Cultural Festival and we are proud to attend this event,” noting the artistic value of the performances that express the sophistication, history and civilization of the city. .

Zain al-Sham, a plastic artist, considered that participation in this festival supports the art march in a peaceful city, where culture days are devoted to the dissemination of art and local heritage.

Lamis Hababa, a plastic artist, stated that the festival reflects a peaceful culture in particular and Syria in general, expressing her hope that she, along with her fellow artists, will contribute to presenting works worthy of this city rooted in history.
