Today, the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources put the Zamlat al-Muhr 1 well, which is located about 40 km east of Palmyra, into service, as it was connected to the network with a capacity of 250,000 cubic meters per day.

The well, which was drilled with national expertise and hands, was entered into the network in the first stage through a 2.7 km side link to the Shaer line and the Ebla gas plant, pending the completion of work on the main line linking the Zamlat al-Mahr field with the Sharifa field and a gas plant in the south of the central region, with a length of 30 km and a diameter of 10 In order to introduce the new gas to the network at the maximum speed.

The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, noted in a press statement the great efforts made by workers around the clock to put the well into service, as the readiness was checked and the well opened. Starting tomorrow, the production of this well will reach the Syrian gas network, and the expected initial quantity is 250 thousand cubic meters. Which contributes to securing some needs.

In turn, the Director General of the Syrian Gas Company, Eng. Amin Al-Daghri, indicated that the joint efforts between the Syrian Oil Company, the Syrian Gas Company and the Military Construction Corporation led to the well being put into service, whereby, in a record time of 15 days, the connection of the initial Zamla Al-Mahr 1 well with the gas pipeline between Shaer Station and a gas plant was implemented. The Director-General of the Syrian Oil Company, Dr. Firas Kaddour, stated that the Zamlat al-Mahr field was discovered and drilled with national expertise from geologists and engineers, considering that this field is promising and its production is expected to reach between 500 and 600 thousand cubic meters before the end of this year.

For his part, the head of the project, Mahmoud Malato, stated that the Zamlat al-Mahr field was discovered at the end of the year 2021 and the workshops worked around the clock to complete the linking of the Zamlet al-Mahr 1 well with the Sharifa gas pipeline in a short period and under difficult conditions, noting that the duration of the first phase of the project is 15 days, while the total phase reaches The project is 90 days.

Minister Tohme toured the drilling sites in the Zamlat al-Mahr 2 and Zamlat al-Mahr 3 wells, where drilling works are continuing.
