The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stressed the importance of resistance and steadfastness as the only way to confront the US policy of pressure and sanctions.
During his meeting with Maduro today, Khamenei pointed out that the experience of the steadfastness of Iran and Venezuela in the face of severe pressures and the US hybrid war proved this.
"The steadfastness of the Venezuelan leadership and people is very important because it leads to the advancement of the status and prestige of this country," Khamenei said, adding that Washington's view of Venezuela is different today from the past.
Khamenei pointed out that the scientific and technological progress Iran has achieved in recent years confirms the failure of the embargo measures and the US policy of maximum pressure against it.
In turn, Maduro stressed the failure of the economic sanctions imposed by the United States on his country, despite the difficult economic situation in Venezuela in recent years, and said, “The Americans started a gradual and multi-dimensional war against our country, but we were able through steadfastness and taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the sanctions to comprehensively confront the American attack and now The situation in Venezuela is better than it was several years ago.”
Maduro noted Iran's supportive stances for the Venezuelan people's struggle against the United States, explaining that an accurate roadmap for cooperation between the two countries had been designed in various fields, especially in the field of science and technology.
Maduro renewed his country's support for the Palestinian cause, as it is a sacred humanitarian issue, pointing out that because of this, the Zionist entity is constantly plotting against Venezuela.
Earlier today, Iran and Venezuela, in the presence of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Maduro, signed an agreement for comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries for a period of 20 years.
