Chancellor Olaf Scholz apparently wants to travel to Ukraine in June.
Two other European heads of government are said to be there.
Berlin – He had hesitated for a long time, but now Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) apparently wants to travel to Kyiv after all.
As the "Bild am Sonntag" reports, citing Ukrainian and French government circles, Scholz wants to travel to the Ukrainian capital together with French President Emmanuel Macron and Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi - before the G7 summit at the end of June.
Numerous European politicians have been visiting the country since the beginning of the Ukraine war - only Scholz not yet.
He had been criticized for that.
Ministers Karl Lauterbach (SPD) and Cem Özdemir (Greens) recently traveled to the country, and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is also there.
Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) has already visited Kyiv.
