Police in the Danish capital say a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a shooting at the Fields Mall shortly before a huge performance by singer Harry Styles at a nearby auditorium.

An unusual incident in the Danish capital: Copenhagen police said a number of people were killed in a shooting at Fields Mall in the city shortly before singer Harry Styles' performance began at the large concert hall adjacent to the complex and that the possibility of an attack was being investigated

A 22-year-old man, a citizen of Denmark, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the case, although his background was not disclosed.

"We can not rule out the possibility that this is an act of terrorism," it was said at a press conference convened by police.

At the beginning of the event, at approximately 20:00 Israel time, it was only said that the complex was evacuated, and that the event began exactly when people had already begun to gather at the nearby concert hall.

The show kicked off as planned after consulting with police, but another event in the south of the country featuring senior Danish officials was canceled.

Although it is currently unclear whether this is terrorism, in recent years there have been cases of violence by Islamic elements, including a deadly attack on a synagogue in the capital.

Also remembered is the affair of the Danish illustrator who painted the Prophet Muhammad, and caused riots in several centers around the world about 17 years ago.
