Residents in Metula are angry about the IDF's intention to build a wall on the settlement's border with Lebanon, which, according to the IDF's plan, is to be built within five years, from the sea to Mount Dov.
In part, the wall west of Metula has already been built.
In a conversation today (Sunday) with the Commander of the Northern Command, Major General Amir Baram, with the residents of Metula, he said: "I am promoting a smart obstacle from the sea to Mount Dov. This was approved six months ago. "There will be a fence that can be cut with a cutter. I will bring the maximum security so that it allows us space to brake."

"I will bring the most sophisticated and good wall and my heart goes out to the landscape. I am responsible for life and only then for the quality of life. Even if you do not like it, I plan to build the wall."
Residents expressed outrage at General Baram, saying the planned eight-meter-high wall would harm the quality of life and not prevent terrorists from crossing in real time.
One resident said that "the wall will be in front of our eyes, we will see a wall, it will harm our tourism and quality of life".

General Baram added that "the villages around Metula are hostile. Every third house in the surrounding villages is a military compound with missiles under the house."
Referring to the buildings that Hezbollah is placing along the fence, Baram said: "We are monitoring the buildings that Hezbollah is next to the fence. We have improved the target bank."
