Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi Friday called for upholding true multilateralism, establishing win-win cooperation and achieving inclusiveness and interconnectivity within the framework of the Group of 20.
"G20 member countries should establish partnerships based on mutual respect and equal consultation," Wang was quoted by Xinhua as saying in a speech today at the G-20 foreign ministers meeting held in Bali, Indonesia.
He pointed out the need to strengthen coordination in macroeconomic policies to push for a comprehensive recovery and growth of the global economy, calling on countries to jointly maintain stable international supply chains to ease the pressure imposed by global inflation.
He also called on the G-20 member states to prioritize development and enhance cooperation in the areas of poverty reduction, combating the coronavirus, infrastructure and green development, stressing that his country will continue to call for peace talks, enhance dialogue on the Ukrainian issue, and will always stand by peace.
The G-20 member states held discussions on topics including ceasefire, cessation of hostilities, economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, industrial and supply chains, food and energy security and agreed that it is necessary to give full play to the important role of the G-20, to promote multilateralism, increase confidence and prevent global divisions.
