“We have 132 years of municipal council to honor and 12 years of mayor. That is a remarkable achievement”: With a delay of a good two years due to the pandemic, Eitting’s Mayor Reinhard Huber said goodbye to the retiring councilors Korbinian Mayer, Franz Wurzer, Johann Schwarz, Josef Schmidt and Paul Wiester as well as his predecessor Georg Wiester. “We have 132 years of municipal council to honor and 12 years of mayor.

That is a remarkable achievement”: With a delay of a good two years due to the pandemic, Eitting’s Mayor Reinhard Huber said goodbye to the retiring municipal councilors Korbinian Mayer, Franz Wurzer, Johann Schwarz, Josef Schmidt and Paul Wiester as well as his predecessor Georg Wiester.

There was a big party at the Postwirt.

In addition, the former councilors signed the golden book of the community.

Eitting - Huber himself had worked as a municipal councilor and deputy mayor with the departed councillors.

"One respected and valued the other," he looked back.

On a small scale, Wiester was appointed former mayor on September 14 last year.

“That was also long overdue,” says Huber.

Wiester had already entered the Golden Book.

Now he is a proud grandfather of four with heart and soul.

However, the 70-year-old looks back fondly on his active days.

He also didn't forget to talk to Rudi Brand.

The former deputy mayor, former soccer mate and friend, died in 2017.

"You can't always please everyone.

Some even change sides of the street when they see me," Wiester admitted and also thanked his wife Adelgund for her support.

“I wish the municipality of Eitting a good future.

Stay healthy,” concluded the former mayor.

Franz Wurzer had been a member of the municipal council for 36 years.

He did not stand for re-election in the 2020 municipal elections.

"He gave a lot for his village," said Huber to the Gadener.

The Schützenheim could not have been built without his commitment and support.

"It was a good time," Wurzer looked back.

In addition to a certificate, he was able to look forward to the citizen's medal in silver.

Schmidt, Mayer and Paul Wiester also received this award.

Eittingermooser Schmidt was a member of the municipal council for 30 years and is also known to many as the long-time commander of the Eittingermoos fire brigade.

He held this position for 24 years.

"I was the only one from Moss.

I was proud of that, too," said the long-time local spokesman, who had also no longer run for office.

Korbinian Mayer has been on the municipal council for 24 years and was also responsible for travel as a local representative the entire time.

He was also on the main and construction committee, audit committee, representative at the community assembly and the climate protection advisory board.

"Everything went well, but there is still life after the municipal council," said Paul Wiester about his 18-year activity as a committee member.

He started at the same time as Huber in 2002.

After six years of service, Schwarz does not remain on the municipal council, but remains active as a field jury member and chairman.

He was only recently appointed.

Wolfgang Lenz and Johann Scharl jun.

Lenz was on the municipal council for twelve years and was on the audit committee the whole time.

He was a sports officer and a member of the climate protection advisory board for the municipalities of Eitting, Oberding and Moosinning for one term each.

Scharl was a member of the council for six years, was a member of the Erdinger Moos wastewater treatment association and three years each on the main and construction committees as well as a wood usable share consultant.

Neither had run again in the 2020 elections.
